Beyonce Album With '4' Enters Billboard Chart at No. 1

The album, which was leaked three weeks early and noted as thus far lacking a standout hit single, takes the No. 1 spot with 310,000 units sold, Billboard reports. But while it’s another No. 1 album, it’s also her lowest first week of sales: “I Am…Sasha Fierce” sold 482,000 when it arrived in 2008, “B’Day” moved 541,000 in 2006, and even her 2003 solo debut “Dangerously in Love” notched a touch higher with 317,000 in the first week.

Beyoncé's arrival pushes former chart champions Born This Way by Lady GaGa and Progress by Take That down to three and four, where they become sandwiched between Adele's 21 and 19 records at two and five respectively.

The so-called "Glastonbury effect" continues outside the top five with Jessie J racing from 11 to six with Who You Are, as her fellow performers Biffy Clyro and Kaiser Chiefs score new entries with Revolutions/Live At Wembley and The Future Is Medieval at nine and ten.
The Top 10 in full:

1. Beyonce '4'
2. Adele: '21'
3. Lady Gaga: 'Born This Way'
4. Take That: 'Progress'
5. Adele: '19'
